We are not the only ones thinking about the Boroughs+ as a regional entity whose towns and citizens share common interests.
The MetroWest Daily News reports here that Marlborough, Northborough, Southborough and Westborough are seeking to collaborate on a regional park system. The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and planners from Northborough, Southborough and Westborough jointly requested funding from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to study the feasibility of a Boroughs regional park system. MAPC and the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (which includes Northborough and Westborough) are funding the study.
Stay tuned for further news on the study and the development of a Boroughs regional park system. Officials expect to determine the feasibility of the project by year’s end.
